This is a weird rant for a first post. It’s not a rant about how bad SAO is of an anime, but all the haters for it!
For whatever reason, many people are calling SAO the worst anime in existence. Sure, if you know me in real life, I’ll also say the same thing, but I’m not fully serious when I say it. What do I personally think of the SAO anime?
It’s HORRIBLE! However, I have my reasons for it, I’m just mega biased because I started reading the light novel when it first started getting translated by baka tsuki and fell in love with the series. When the anime was coming up, I was part of the people hyping it up, with the first episode fitting all my expectations… and the rest sort of… not…
However, that’s only because I started reading the light novel and followed it for a long time. For others, the expectation of SAO shouldn’t be as bad as what I went through.
Now lets go over why people hate the anime. One, it didn’t live up to people’s expectations, the hype that they were hearing from all over. That’s a decent reason to be disappointed, and I guess not like the anime since over hyped animes generally don’t live up to the hype, but no reason to call it the “worst anime.” What else? Some people say that SAO is just fan service up the ass with a story line. Well, seeing as how a lot of anime do that as well, I don’t see how you can call SAO solely the worst. Then there’s people who simply hate SAO because everyone hates SAO. What? What? I don’t even know how to respond to this. You try to avoid being on the SAO hype bandwagon because it’s a bandwagon… by joining the SAO hate bandwagon without even thinking much of it.
The reason I’m making this rant is because people can’t openly show that they love SAO without getting shitted on by the rest of the anime community. Especially since they don’t know why the anime isn’t as properly paced as it should be (the story ended in the 1st volume of the LN due to the author not being sure he’d be allowed to write more than one volume of this. He’s been trying to make it a LN for years, hence why it’s horribly paced since the 2nd book is literally just the filler episodes everybody hated).
Other than that, I really need to start reading the SAO progressive light novel… where the author writes it as he wanted too, not finishing the Aincrad arc in one novel.
Oh and… Sinon is still best grill. Love her! ❤

I enjoyed it till episode 14 I think is where he got out I think, then he had to go back in to the fairy version to rescue what’s here face for got her name “lol” but it wasn’t as good I got to eps 16 and to be honest it went to shit, it was the same thing and I had to walk away from it but season 2 was supposed to have some redeaming factors but yeah I’ll just leave it were it is

I can see why, the ALfheim arc was really poorly executed in comparison to the light novel, focusing much more on action than actual story, as well as skipping a few things. At least Asuna wasn’t completely a damsel in distress as she did try to escape.
ALfheim though is probably the weakest arc in the series anyways, but it was still pretty entertaining to read. Season 3 was kind of bleh for me. I loved GGO but that was also a bit rushed, though it did help Kirito develop his character, as well as introducing best grill, Sinon. Though the 2nd half of it was kind of going for cheap feels, which was also better pulled off in the LN. But it’s hard to beat the original content anyways.
